Rodents can enter your business through an opening as small as ¼”. Be sure to cover the following with rodent-proof materials (concrete, caulk, copper mesh, aluminum mesh, steel wool, hardware cloth, sheet metal):
- Holes or gaps around pipes
- Holes or cracks in your facility’s foundation, walls, etc.
- Gaps under doors
Maintaining landscaping outside and minimizing clutter inside will help prevent rodents from creating shelters in and around your commercial space. Mice and rats can create shelter in any of the following:

- Rock piles
- Old equipment
- Cluttered storage areas
